Porsche announces vehicle delivery results for the January-September period of the year.
According to the data, the luxury car manufacturer’s vehicle deliveries decreased by 6% to 212,509 in the January-September period of the year compared to the same period last year.
CHALLENGING MARKET CONDITIONS IN THE LUXURY SEGMENT
Porsche delivered 32,195 vehicles in China during this period, with a 26% decrease.
In the company’s statement on the subject, it was stated that, “The main reasons for this decline include challenging market conditions in the luxury segment and intense competition in the Chinese market.”
While deliveries to China account for approximately 15% of the company’s global deliveries, Porsche is affected by the trade tensions between the European Union (EU) and China.
Porsche‘s deliveries in North America increased by 5% to 64,446 in the first 9 months of the year compared to the same period last year, while deliveries in Germany decreased by 16% to 22,492.
The company’s sales in Europe excluding Germany also saw a 4% decrease, dropping to 50,286.
Completely dependent on exports, Porsche lowered its expectations for the year due to weak demand, competitive pressures in the key market of China, and the increase in US customs duties.
